A unique collection of old film provides a fascinating look back at life in Leeds from the late 1800’s to the 1960’s.
Among the many film highlights included in the DVD, we see some remarkable scenes in Briggate in 1898, election mayhem in 1929, the visit of King George V in 1933, aspects of life n the city during World War 2, the Coronation celebrations in 1953, various scenes of Leeds folk going about their everyday affairs, and many views of the city in the 1950s and 1960s that will bring memories flooding back for anyone who remembers the Leeds of old.
Many of the events are brought to life with reports of the time from the archives of the Yorkshire Post.
