For thousands of years, until the early 20th century, salt dominated Droitwich and the lives of the people who lived here. Even today it’s impossible to escape its influence.
Our story starts 250 million years ago when the salt reserves were formed and follows the town’s evolution from prehistoric times up to modern day, with just a glimpse of what the future may have in store.
It also recalls some of the people and events that have contributed to the town’s rich heritage down through the ages.
